Review: MCMLXV welcomes back Analog~1 for a third outing here. It is an alias of JS Zeiter and one that is reserved more for esoteric and electronica tracks following notable outings on labels such as Furthur Electronix, Meandyou and We're Going Deep. 'Mirage' kicks off with melancholic pads and dubby chords over crisp minimal drums that sink you into a reverie. That vibe continues through 'Virtual' and 'Haunted' which care both sophisticated atmospheres with subtle electro-tinged rhythms and quietly emotive pads. 'Solano' closes down with another icy and cavernous space that is filled with meaningful synth craft to make for another classy EP.

Review: A repress here of 2019's under the radar 'Box EP by The enigmatic British producer JS Zeiter, who executed more greyscale dub techno excursions of a typically high caliber on this one. After some spookily sensual ASMR action on intro 'The Code' he continues to build the suspense on the beatless Subarctic Soundscape of 'Darkness Falls' before dropping the power on the cavernous and glacial beats of 'On The Moor'. Flip over and take on more of the frozen seascape on the deeply hypnotic groove of "Empty" before one more emotional ambient outro in the form of 'Endgame'.

Review: Placid's We're Going Deep label has excelled since first emerging a couple of years ago, with the imprint's broad definition of 'deep' electronic music and fondness for multi-artist EPs ensuring enough variety to keep things interesting. Volume nine in their compilation style series is naturally full to bursting with killer cuts, from the acid-flecked, late 80s Larry Heard style vibes of Remote's EP-opening 'Ionic Shuffle', to the subtly IDM-influenced deep electro brilliance of rave survival Suddi Raval's superb closing cut 'Flight To Mars'. In between you'll find the TB-303-sporting deep electro wonder of Steven Simpson's 'Acid 13', and the hypnotic, sub-heavy, deep acid house heaven that is 'Entropy' by JS Seiter.

Review: J.S.Zeiter assumed his JS moniker to craft this now much sought after techno classic. He did it many years ago and it is now brought back to the fore thanks to the Kontakt label which has restored it directly from the masters and then remastered the whole EP. The original is a serene deep techno cut with plenty of Motor City synth work then Mark Broom brings his signature drum weight and driving percussion to take things up a notch. These are two stylish tunes that have aged perfectly.
