Klavis Grainity Granular Digitally-Controlled Full-Analogue Path Granular & Multi-Mode VCF Module (silver)
Cat: 934965

Digitally-controlled full-analogue path granular & multi-mode VCF module in 10HP.
Notes: The Grainity brings a unique and never-heard-before concept to the world of analogue VCF.

While being based on analogue filtering only, the Grainity expands and enriches the sound in creating subharmonics, harmonies, unison, flanging effects and formant filtering all at once.

The module presents two sections, the granular filter itself and a typical multimode filter, each with its own output.

A third output offers a mix of both filter paths. Numerous controls and CV allow a very wide palette of results.

What is the Grainity

Granular?

The word granular was chosen for this filter module in relation to the concept invented by the composer Yannis Xenakis, and which is described as assembling small chops of sounds - he called grains - according to a pattern.

This is exactly what the Grainity does, no more no less ... but, digital control allows doing it in ways that are decades away from what tape and scissors allowed at the time.

Technology wise ...

In the granular section, the incoming sound cycle is determined in order to step through various filtering and phase variations of itself according to predefined patterns called structures.

The controls allow alterations to the cycling phase, cycling frequency offset (tuning), structure selection and frequency division of the filters cycling. This comes in addition to the usual filter frequency and resonance controls.

What the Grainity is not

Technology wise ...

Despite relying on a microprocessor, the Grainity is not a digital audio processor. At any time, the sound remains in the analog domain and goes through analog circuits from in to out.
The digital processor does not convert or generate audio signals; it is there to control the analog circuitry and manage the interface and display.

Sound wise ...

Several digital modules offering granular processing rely on the layering of sound grains, which leads to blurry and cloudy textures.
Layering of the grains is a late addition to the concept of granular synthesis and is not a mandatory feature of the concept.
The Grainity does not use delay lines or sampling memory but is nevertheless true to the foundations of the granular synthesis concept.

The granular VCF in the Grainity is unconventional in that, most of times, it is not filtering the sound in the common expectation of removing something. Typically, the granular process adds more than it removes by expanding both the lower range, creating subharmonics, and the upper harmonic contents in multiples ways.

SoMa Laboratory Terra Polyphonic Microtonal Synthesiser (dark oak)
Cat: 955441

A complex polyphonic, microtonal synthesiser with a broad and flexible sound palette.
Notes: TERRA is a new SOMA Labs synth that is currently in development.

TERRA is a highly conceptual device. The core idea is unity of nature and technology, and a perfect balance between simplicity and versatility. Behind the extremely simple interface hides a complex polyphonic, microtonal synthesizer with a broad and flexible sound palette that ranges from classical beautiful tones to complex atonal noise, and offers smooth and fast transitions between these extremes.

The innovative keyboard design invites new playing techniques and covers the full range of a grand piano with the possibility to tune each note with an accuracy of 125 steps per semitone. To achieve this range with such a simple keyboard we designed a unique system of pitch shifting using four additional sensors. Pressing different combinations of them will result in 16 variations of keyboard transposing, including up to 3 octaves up and down, fifth, fourth, third, tone etc.

Not only do you get the full range of a grand piano in a very compact design, TERRA also offers an entirely new and different approach to playing melodies and chords.

The keyboard consists of 12-note sensors with velocity and pressure sensitivity allowing for the manual creation of slow attack and vibrato, 4 dynamic sensors for timbre modification and control, 4 pitch-shifting sensors and 2 hold sensors for holding the state of the timbre and note sensors.

Inside TERRA there is a three-axis motion sensor for creating a variety of different modulations by simple intuitive movements of your hands and body.

TERRA is digital and contains 32 complex synthesis algorithms. Each algorithm has been carefully designed to be a complete and flexible musical instrument on its own, ready for learning and playing in its own unique way. The goal is to free the musician from long exhausting programming, setting hundreds of parameters for creating one timbre, and instead putting the focus directly on music and performance and following your imagination and inspiration.

TERRA offers the best of both worlds: the direct intuitive tactile connection from acoustic instruments and the flexibility and versatility of synthesizers. TERRA inherits design principles from LYRA-8 and also contains application of the new principles that were announced for ReFLEX, exploring the future of synthesis.

TERRA has an extremely simple interface that gives you instant access to all its functions in several touches, including saving and loading the 96 presets that are stored directly on the playing sensors. TERRA has no display. Instead it shows and lets you dial all necessary data on the 6 LED-sensor triangle in the centre.

TERRA has a built-in FX processor so the stereo output is ready to use, making it a perfect stand-alone performance instrument. While the sound generation is digital, TERRA has a unique custom-built and top quality analogue part that makes it sound rich, natural, clear and powerful at the same time.

The housing of TERRA comes from a solid piece of wood, making each instrument unique and slightly different. In the photo above and in the announcement demo video you can see the prototype of the synth. The final design is in development and we intend to make several different versions.

TERRA is a sanctuary for a natural soul right in the middle of the rumbling plastic world, a ground where you can breathe in and out slowly, and hold on to your roots.

TERRA is our dream about a bright future where we will be both technologically advanced and more connected to nature, where machines and technology are not a prison for our feelings and spirit but their extension.

Xaoc Devices Batumi II 1974 Quadruple Low Frequency Oscillator II Module
Xaoc Devices Batumi II 1974 Quadruple Low Frequency Oscillator II Module (digital/LFO/oscillator/quad/random/clock generator/CV modulation module)
Cat: 979276 Rel: 31 Jan 24

Quadruple low frequency oscillator module - 10HP
Notes: Xaoc Devices presents Batumi II - a greatly improved and enhanced new iteration of the modern day classic that is/was the original Batumi, preserving its layout and form factor. The premise remains the same: four LFO's with individual outputs for sine, assign and rectangle waves. The channels can operate independently or they can be linked - phase shifted, divided or multiplied (new mode alert) with regard to the first channel. Multiple major and minor improvements have been implemented, e.g. when synced to an external clock source, each channel's frequency slider selects a clock division for that channel's outputs.

Xaoc Devices have managed to incorporate the features of the original expander into Batumi II (sync mode switching and assign waveform selection) without changing the size of the module which opened up new possibilities for the new optional expander. The Poti II expander for Batumi II adds multi destination inputs for sine wavefolding, assign output waveform selection or rectangle pulse modulation with the destination set for each channel independently. Poti II also features frequency input attenuation as well as sine and assign output attenuation. All adjustments may be performed separately for each individual channel or for all channels simultaneously.

The Batumi II software has been rewritten from scratch to ensure best performance. The hardware has also been updated to allow for V/oct tracking and stable operation up to audio rates (more powerful CPU, precise, wideband converters, antialiased waveforms).

-4 LFO's
- redesigned from scratch - both the hardware and software
- new waveforms for the assign output (including random)
- new frequency multiplication mode
- all features of the Poti expander incorporated into the main module
- very wide frequency range well into audio rate
- 1V/oct tracking = so can be used as 4 VCO's
- in the Phase/Divide/Mult modes the random waves at the ASGN output follow the values available in the master/A channel
- 10HP
- +90/-50mA

Plum Audio ADVA Smart Multimode Filter Module (black)
Plum Audio ADVA Smart Multimode Filter Module (black) (distortion/filter/noise/VCA synth module)
Cat: 970492 Rel: 31 Dec 23

24dB analogue multimode filter module with VCA, white noise generator, pre and post-distortions and a smart interface - 6HP.
Notes: ADVA is a fat-sounding 24dB ANALOGUE MULTIMODE FILTER packed with features including a VCA, white noise generator, pre and post-distortions and a smart interface that makes it a versatile beast in a surprisingly small package.

With 7 filter modes, ADVA provides high richness and a wide variety of tones; it can filter gently like an LPG or it can be pushed up to the edges of hot acid tones.

Unlike many other multimode filters, a phase keeper ensures that ADVA never inverts the input's phase in any of its filter modes.

Self-Oscillation is available for all modes, producing a range of waves from clean sine waves up to soft square waves when activating the post-distortion circuit. Together with V/OCT tracking, ADVA works brilliantly as an oscillator or as a percussive sound generator.

A resonance loudness compensation circuit ensures that ADVA does not compromise on volume when the resonance is increased.

An Internal analogue white noise generator is the little bit of spice that can make the world of difference. Blend it together with the input signal by rotating the dedicated knob to add more richness to your sound and further emphasize cutoff movements, or use it as an FM source to achieve the different flavors of dirty tones.

ADVA is packed with two separate distortion circuits. First, the soft-clipping overdrive is located in the sound path after the white noise blend knob and the input gain knob, a circuit which can push the incoming signal to thicken any waveform. If you blend the input with the noise generator it can compress the noise and exaggerate it to achieve more aggressive levels.

The second (post) distortion is located after the VCA, just before the output. This is a more aggressive distortion and can be used for acid and other dirty hot tones.

Although the sound path is completely analogue, ADVA has a digital support circuit that enables a smart routing system with the option to modulate filter modes via CV, and a very intuitive interface that includes 3 CLICKKNOBS and an RGB LED ring that provides visual feedback for whatever state the filter is in.

IK Multimedia iLoud Precision MTM 2x5" Studio Monitor (single, black)
Cat: 895406

2x 5" Woofers + 30 mm Tweeter, 175W RMS, Coherent phase & time response, Built-in ARC, X-MONITOR tech
Notes: Studio monitors re-invented. Again.

iLoud Precision series represents another breakthrough in nearfield monitoring from the company that revolutionized compact monitors with iLoud Micro Monitor and iLoud MTM.

Available in a choice of 3 configurations - 2-way 5" or 6.5", and 2 x 5" MTM - these handmade works of sonic art reflect IK's 25+ years of expertise in loudspeaker design and digital signal processing, delivering a level of sonic detail that beats speakers at three times the price, with unique DSP-based features and software workflow enhancements that can't be found anywhere else.

Best-in-class frequency response

Creating mixes that translate perfectly to the outside world, iLoud Precision offers best-in-class frequency response with an extended range of 36 Hz - 30 kHz and a stunning +/- 1 dB accuracy ultra-flat response from 45 Hz to 30 kHz, for precise and uncolored audio throughout the entire listening range.

True linear phase response for unmatched clarity and translation

iLoud Precision leverages its advanced 96 kHz internal DSP system, digital crossover and custom-designed audiophile amplifiers to deliver true linear phase response above 150 Hz (and the very minimum possible phase rotation at low frequencies) for precise stereo imaging, sharp transients, incredibly solid bass and breathtaking detail. The result is a stunningly clear, transparent and revealing sound quality that's absolutely true to life.

Perfect time alignment that eliminates ear fatigue

iLoud Precision also sets a new standard for time coherence, or the precise timing alignment between all the portions of the audio spectrum. Reaching nearly the theoretical ideal performance, iLoud Precision offers the highest level of time accuracy, without sacrificing frequency response. Precise time alignment offers incredibly transient response and frequency balance and eliminates the ear fatigue that can develop over longer listening sessions on lesser monitors. Plus this improves the "readability" of the program and therefore translation.

Built-in acoustic calibration to hear your music and not your room

With iLoud Precision there's less worry about treating your room. Each speaker features built-in calibration based on the acclaimed ARC™ System technology. Just connect the included MEMS measurement microphone and in a few seconds, the iLoud Precisions will tune themselves to any environment from your mixing room to living room

Deep, controlled bass with or without a sub

With bass extension down to 36 Hz at only - 4 dB, iLoud Precision delivers deep, powerful bass that's nevertheless controlled and balanced, with minimum phase rotations. With ARC enabled, in many rooms iLoud Precision can reach as low as 30 Hz, while an adjustable bass roll-off lets Precisions integrate with a sub, for unparalleled low-end performance in any setup, without the need of an external crossover that could degrade sonic performance.

MTM configuration for point source sound

At the top of the range, the iLoud Precision MTM use the midwoofer-tweeter-midwoofer configuration to deliver not only the highest SPL, but also an ultra-precise, point source sound and an incredible stereo field. This means an even more natural, life-like sound, where the speaker cabinets "disappear" and attention can be focused entirely on the music.

Ideal for immersive setups

In addition to self-calibrating to the listening environment, iLoud Precision includes a range of low- and high-frequency management options, including a switchable Full/35/50/65/80 Hz extension to optimize their performance with Atmosr and other immersive setups.

Powerful software control

Extended calibration and custom voicing

The iLoud Precision series introduces X-MONITOR, a newly developed advanced control application for Mac and Windows that assists with ARC calibration and enables extended acoustic and voicing selection and adjustments to fine-tune iLoud Precision to your taste, plus convenient remote access to the settings on the Precision's back panel. The software is plug-n-play via a simple USB connection with no special setup needed.

Iconic studio monitors and popular speaker emulations

Even more exciting, X-MONITOR emulates the frequency and phase response of the most famous studio monitors on the market, as well as popular hi-fi speakers and mobile devices, for a breathtakingly true-to-life experience. Over 20 studio monitor profiles are included, and more will be released in the future, saving you money and space. A single pair of iLoud Precisions with X-MONITOR lets you test a mix on different reference systems quickly, without ever leaving the sweet spot or needing any other speakers.

Fully accessorized
Measurement microphone included

Each iLoud Precision includes a high precision MEMS measurement microphone for the built-in ARC calibration that makes setting up the monitors a breeze.

Isolation pods included

Designed to meet the specific needs of audio professionals and musicians, each iLoud Precision includes a kit of 4 iLoud Isolation Pods. Enjoy enhanced audio clarity, consistency and imaging precision throughout the whole frequency spectrum as these custom pods dramatically reduce the propagation of vibrations between the speaker and supporting surface.

Optional remote control

The optional iLoud Precision Remote Control lets you switch easily between 4 X-MONITOR speaker emulations or custom voicings and assign functions like ARC On/Off, Mute or Dim. And for use with ARC room correction software, the remote can control the measurement/room calibration process from the desk while providing visual feedback on the process status.

Notes: The Quad Mute is a four-channel passive mute switch and multiple, great for performative control over your patches. Each channel includes a mute switch that interrupts the signal going from the input to the output. The module features top-down normalization, meaning without a jack present at an input, the signal above it is connected to that input. This allows the module to function as a multiple and pass one signal to several destinations. Each channel includes a bicolor LED that displays the activity of the input signal when it passes to the output.

Buchla Music Easel (Retro) Modular Analogue Synthesiser
Cat: 956180

The development of the legendary modular analogue synthesiser by Don Buchla.
Notes: The Buchla Music Easel was one of the first truly portable electronic music instruments. Fifty years ago, in 1973, only a few dozen were made. Unlike many iconic technologies, the influence was not grown through force of scale, but rather the force of the ideas. The Music Easel made available virtually every musical dimension: timbre, melody, rhythm, and time; how these dimensions intersected was no longer the court of acoustics and material, but signals and voltage. The 208 Stored Program Sound Source engendered "a new functional organization [with a] particularly rapid system of patching and program storage via plug-in cards."

Taking cues from the then-recent discipline of cybernetics, the 218 touch plate was for "real-time communication" to help realize the "potential vocabulary" of the Easel, rather than exploiting existing modes of musical virtuosity. The Stored Program Cards ensured rapid repeatability and repertoire on its own terms. The battery terminals made sure the music was as portable as any acoustic instrument. And the name let you know it was designed for art rather than science.

Buchla is ecstatic to revive the Music Easel for its third run in 50 years. Buchla first released the updated 208 Stored Program Sound Source, dubbed the Easel Command, with expanded MIDI and USB capability. Next came the update of the Easel Program Manager - a complete kit for storing and recalling sounds sources, even more rapidly than imagined in 1973. The new 218 Touch Activated Voltage Source provides the optimal input facility, as originally envisioned. It is now all together in a rugged case and the advanced EMBIO module that unifies all the audio and control inputs and outputs for integration with the rest of your musical world.

More than a retro novelty, the Music Easel still speaks to a future we strive for. A technology that invites conversation, not chats, and controls that engage expression, not work. There are many new worlds to explore in this instrument created at the crossroads of the jazz and computer ages. Designed as "an integrated assemblage of functions", rather than a collection of modules, the Music Easel's colour coding, comfortable access to controls, and solid patch connections allow for satisfying sessions of sonic discovery.

The Music Easel (retro) is available for pre-order starting in June 16 at Buchla.com and your favorite Buchla Dealer with delivery expected in winter 2023.

Stored Program Sound Source Model 208C

The sound source of the Music Easel is the 208C, which includes a complex oscillator and a modulation oscillator (which can also serve as another voice), each with independent switchable waveforms, as well as a noise generator, allowing for rich and intricate sound design. The 208C also features a five-stage sequencer, envelope generator, pulser and modulation source - with switchable triggers - allowing for complex patterns and evolving textures. The dual low pass gate provides dynamic control over the tone and amplitude of the sound, as well as natural-sounding decay and sustain. The 208C has a number of modulation sources, including a random voltage generator, the envelope generator, modulation oscillator, and an envelope detector. These sources can be used to modulate various parameters via the extensive patchfield - creating movement, texture, and complexity. The 208C also includes a mixer section with spring reverb.

Touch Activated Voltage Source Model 218e (v3)

The first design appeared in the 1973 release of the Buchla Music Easel and named for the spacecraft that delivered astronauts to the moon. Providing the familiar piano key layout for this early mobile music machine, the additional controls and capabilities were an interface for exploring uncharted musical territory. With the new version 3, it's been elevated with a new foundation of stable, modern electronics with incredible sensitivity and accuracy - the lightest touch will produce triggers and control voltages. The adjustable sensor has the dynamic range and durability to handle your playing. The new texture not only improves the sensing, but provides a satisfying tactile experience. As always, pressure is an expressive output, adding an extra dimension to the control. MIDI outputs velocity and polyphony, as well as channel pressure, making the 218e a uniquely expressive controller. The 218e includes portamento and an arpeggiator, which can be driven by external inputs and are allowed to interact with the automated notes to make patterns more complex. Additional controls allow you to blend different patterns and randomness to easily change from the expected to the surprising. The classic preset voltage knobs offer several possible ways to shift your sounds into new territory. Not only can the knobs be used for quick access to voltages for your patch, they can control arpeggiation modes and octave shifting. Pads output pulses for additional control. The 218e also gives you a unique interface to playing your existing MIDI gear and soft synths. Each touch outputs note name, channel pressure, and velocity for every note, along with sustain controls from a pedal. Polyphonic MIDI mode lets you play chords. The touchstrip can act as a pitch bend control, or as a mod wheel for additional expressive control. Easily configured using the front panel controls, you can send notes and controls on any MIDI channel.

Electric Music Box Input/Output (EMBIO)

Maintaining the spirit, sound, and process from the original, the new Music Easel adds a variety of new features. Buchla's latest renditions of the Stored Program Sound Source and Touch Activated Voltage Source are tied together with the Electric Music Box Input/Output (EMBIO) module. This of course provides MIDI out (mini jack and USB) and CV out from the 218, MIDI in to the 208, and the audio out from the 208C. Additional creative control comes from the Audio Mixer, for integration with other Buchla modules and systems, and the CV conditioners and controls. The slew control can turn your sequencer into a wavy modulator, or soften up a square LFO. The attenuator and crossfader gives you the opportunity to find new levels and combinations of voltages from existing ones. The pulse converter offers new rhythms to trigger. And a simple LFO provides another valuable modulator when you just can't quite let yourself flip that Mod Osc switch from "high" to "low."

Buchla Music Easel (Modern) Modular Analogue Synthesiser
Cat: 956175

The development of Don Buchla's legendary modular analogue synthesiser.

The Music Easel is available for pre-order starting June 16 at Buchla.com and your favourite Buchla Dealer. Delivery of the Music Easel (modern) is expected fall 2023.

Atomosynth Tottem v2 4-Voice Analogue Drum Synth Module
Cat: 958687

4-voice analogue drum synth module - 24HP.
Notes: Atomosynth's legendary drum synthesizer comes back this time with four independent, all-analogue percussion synth voices.

Two of them feature a full percussion synth with triangle and square wave oscillator, an envelope for the "sweep" effect, one modulator with triangle and square wave as well as noise, also a decay envelope for the overall volume contour.
These are very flexible generating from powerful bass drums, toms, clicks, all the way to "laser gun" and weird glitch sounds.

The other two voices feature an oscillator with "metal" and square wave, a white noise generator, a mixer, and also a decay envelope. These are great to produce metallic sounds like hi-hats, crashes, cymbals, clicks, beeps, and all craziness in between.

Combining the two synth voice types you can expand the possibilities even further for more complex sounds. Finally an output mixer with individual level controls and outputs for each voice and a master output.

The new Tottem produces a "raw" organic character sound, that does not emulate any drum machine and stands apart from the very polished and over-processed digital drum synthesizers and samplers, giving you a new sound to enrich your percussion palette.

Bleep Labs Sensory Coupler Multi-Sensor Interface Module
Cat: 943691

Converts touch, proximity, light, magnetic fields and motion into CV and gate.
Notes: The Sensory Coupler allows you to easily convert touch, proximity, light, magnetic fields, motion, and more into CV and gate.

Built-in touch contact and 1/8" TRS jack sensor interface. Other sensors and devices like expression pedals can be easily added. DIY info coming soon.

Calibration mode. Sensors produce different readings in different environments, the Sensory Coupler calibrates them to utilize the entire 0-10V CV output range.
CV output based on calibrated or raw sensor data. 0-10V.
Two gate outputs. Work based on an adjustable threshold level. When the sensor reading is above or inside the threshold, GATE will output 12V while !GATE will be 0V and vice versa.
Smoothing modes. Sensor readings can be chaotic when you might not want them to be so there are two smoothing modes. One simply averages readings to create slow rises and falls while the other acts like an envelope follower with adjustable decay.
Large LED strip display. Visualizes the sensor reading, threshold, smoothing mode and more.

USB MIDI standalone mode. The Sensory Coupler can work without modular +-12V power, getting power with the built in USB-C connector and sending and receiving MIDI notes and CC. In USB mode gate outputs work at 4V instead of 12V but CV out is disabled.

Includes:

Phototransistor / light sensor
Hall effect / magnetic sensor
Accelerometer / motion sensor
Gooseneck 1/8" TRS cable. Easy to bend and stays in place.
2M 1/8" TRS cable. Has a higher gauge than a regular 1/8" modular cable, allowing for sensors to be connected at a distance without introducing noise.

Omiindustriies Cascading Register Source Of Pseudo-Random Voltages & Gates Module
Cat: 941415

A shift register-based pseudo-random voltage and gates module in 12HP.
Notes: The Cascading Register from Omiindustriies is a source of pseudo-random voltages and gates using a shift register-based architecture. It takes inspiration from digital shift registers, runglers, linear feedback shift registers (LFSRs), and analog shift registers. The module features an eight-bit shift register and voltage-controlled clock; broken into four main function blocks: clocking, data, CV, and gates.

The shift register includes eight gate outputs and three variable CV outputs derived from the state of those gates. CV 1 is determined by OO, O1, O2, and O3. While O2, O3, O4, and O5 correspond to CV 2 and O4, O5, O6, and O7 make up CV3. This grouping of stages creates three copies of the same data shifted by two clock pulses. Each CV output includes variable control over the amplitude. CV1 and CV2 include attenuverters and CV3 uses an attenuator. The eight pseudo-random gate outputs work great as both timing and modulation sources, particularly when used with percussive modules.

Data comes from the data gate input, manual seed button, and three feedback taps from the shift register itself; with each part of the data stream XOR'd with the other parts. While the module includes a voltage-controlled clock normalized into the clock input, it accepts a wide range of external clock sources, from sub-audio to audio, all the way to video rate signals. The module includes normalization from CV3 to the CV input on the clock oscillator, creating a self-influencing feedback configuration without the need for any patch cables. When using an external clock signal, the internal clock works great as a data source by patching from the clock output to the data input.

Quanalog Boubou 5-Voices Analogue Drum Module
Cat: 941890

A combination of 5 voices of filter based analogue drum synth: kick, low and high tom, rimshot, snare and high hats.
Notes: The Quanalog Boubou is a combination of 5 voices of filter-based analogue drum synth that covers the basic drum set. It includes Kick, Low and Hi Tom, Rimshot, Snare and Hi Hats that can be the foundation for your Eurorack drum setup. Each voice has a lot of necessary control, which can be developed further to reach a wider range of possibilities.

At its base, every drum engine can become a signal processor with the core made by the analogue filter, so it can also process other engines, or alternatively other modules.

Each sound has been carefully made with a specific analogue filter structure to be able to create the feel of real percussion to cover both low-end and high-end frequencies. Quanalog have carefully tweaked every single component to give it a very classic sound quality, with a high-end built with an all metal pot, jack and switch to make sure it's the last module that breaks on your setup.

Kick drum

The kick drum is the combination of 2 parts; the bottom sound of the drums come from pure sine waves generated by analogue low-pass filter being excited to a resonance point, giving a thick and powerful sound blend with click sounds made by the feedback circuit, with control over frequency and mix volume to create a perfect bass drum.

All parameters affected by 3 compression mode define 3 differences, and a level that can be useful in different situations such as studio, live performance, etc. The sound from the kick voice can range from very soft and gentle, punchy energetic kick to a very harsh, overdriven sound that can send the dancefloor crazy!

The click tone and blend control are for the feedback circuit that can choose the frequency for the click sound from high click to low mid boost which can be cranked up until the distortion point.

The overdrive knob controls the amount of signal that feeds in. Start with a low input signal, that sounds familiar to an 808 bass drum and can be more overdriven so that it becomes more like a 909 or like Vermona kicks. It can be cranked up until it self resonates and can be use as a sine oscillator for generating bass sound.

The new version of Boubou has a tune CV and decay CV for the kick drum, making it an even more flexible kick drum pattern.

If you feed the trigger input instead of a short trigger but a waveform or audio, the kick drum becomes a wavefolder/bit crusher, which can make your simple waveform more complex. The Lo tom section without plugging the trig in becomes a notch filter for the bass drum with CV control over pitch.

Dual Tom

The Lo and Hi tom voices use the same core engine as a kick voice with CV control for the resonance point which affects the drum pitch. You can use voltage signal from other modules such as a sequencer, envelope, LFO or more, to vary the pitch to create multiple and polyrhythm feels.

The Lo Tom can vary from low frequency kick drums to a hi-tom/ bongo, using the combination of frequency and resonance control. The Hi tom can also become very high pitched, and can be used as a rimshot.

The dual tom has retrig knobs, which control the volume of the retrigger drum when gates are off. Depending on the gate length, it can create a flam, roll or a natural flap sound that makes "hand play". If you had a sequencer with trigger that has a different gate length for each step, it can create a very complex rhythm.

Like the kick drum, the dual tom part can become a sound processor with the low and hi tom as a dual notch filter with both low and high-frequency range. Can use it to create very rich and musical harmonic based on its resonance peak point.

Snare

The Snare voice is an analogue white noise going thru decay VCA, then it triggers a band pass filter with frequency and resonance control to define snare pitch. Turning "RES" makes it into a thin spring snare sound. By blending the Resonance amount and frequency, it starts to define the body tone of the snare. It can vary from a hi tom, to a hand clap, or 2nd hi hats.

Without plugging the trig in jack of the hi tom , it becomes a notch filter for the snare. So if you plug only the Snare trigger, the hi tom becomes the resonance section of the snare, which helps to create a very thick realistic bottom snare sound, and a rimshot sound can be created by the hi tom section. By plugging the trig to the hi tom sound, it separates the trigger from the snare trigger input.

Hats

The Hats engine uses an independent noise source going thru a high-pass filter that resonates at high frequency, then thru a decay-VCA which CV control over decay amount with an attenuator. Not only does it create an open-closed hi-hat, but it can also resemble a real hi-hat using a "CV pedal" to make it sound more natural.

It also has a mixer section that is able to feed in another sound source from an ext. VCO or anything can be mixed with the noise part. When the noise volume turn off, this sections acts as a decay VCA for another sound module. By this design, the module doesn't stick with fixed VCO tune like the other module, but it allows you to be creative on the timbre of the hats to make a very fine cymbal sound with precision pitch from another 1v/oct module.

Also, instead of trig in if you plug a VCO source to the trig input, it can make a noise VCO which follow the roots VCO frequency. You can use this to "ring" the ext.in VCO.

Overall

All 5 voices are analogue filter-based and they can process the signal that is being fed in, so the gate signal being processed thru VCA circuit can create a multi-level accent. Each module can process a gate signal to become a drum sound, or process each other or another sound source. The only limit is your imagination!

With 5 analogue drum engines, you can create a very good rhythm in your setup. When paired with any drum trigger, it becomes a very powerful drum machine that can be useful both in live and studio environments.

Boubou sound tips:

With the kick drum, the best sound is when you set the volume with soft mode, all parameters are low to a reasonable level, then you will see the magic when you crank it up!

With kick, lo and tom, you will be able to make them velocity sensitive by plugging a step CV signal instead of a trig or gate signal to the trigger input. You can create a multiple dynamic to the sound.

The Lo and Hi tom sound can be part of the Kick and Snare sound by not plugging any jack to the trigger input. You can use the sound from the lo and hi tom section to become a 2nd body sound with CV control resonance to create a thicker Kick and snare sound.

Try plugging an audio or waveform signal from another sound source, or VCO, and use the modulation for it. Or you can even try to plug the result of one section to the trigger input of the other.

Flame Ton Duophonic Melody Looper & Quantizer Module
Flame Ton Duophonic Melody Looper & Quantizer Module (sequencer/looper/random/dual/stereo/quantize synth module)
Cat: 973767 Rel: 31 Dec 23

Duophonic melody looper and quantizer module - 12HP.
Notes: "TON" is a 12HP wide Eurorack live sequencer module for creating two note sequences. There are two 1V/octave outputs with GATE/NOTE/VELOCITY. Notes can also be sent via MIDI. Both note tracks are independent of each other and can be used in different octave spreads. In addition to the analog connection, the module has full MIDI functionality. It can be synchronized via analogue clock or via MIDI.

The sequencer is designed as a looper. It plays a pattern of up to four bars in a loop. The notes can be played (or deleted) quantized with two buttons. One button is used for note repeats, another for setting individual events. The pitch is determined by either the potentiometer or the built-in distance sensor. The sensor works in a range of about 1 to 40 cm and is independent of extraneous light. Even bright sunlight does not affect it.

A 1-octave mini-keyboard allows transposing on the fly and setting a scale. Since the module has two CV inputs, it can also be used as a two-channel quantizer or arpeggiator. All settings of the current pattern are simply saved together in a patch. There are 5 banks with 7 seats each (per mini-keyboard) available. This allows up to 35 patterns to be managed. The patches can also be selected via CV or MIDI program change and can be saved and reloaded on the fly.

The pattern can be manipulated during and after the import with eg: gate length, velocity, random, last step, hold, mute, glide, scale and transposition. Both tracks can have different settings. With TRACK-Link, however, parameters can also be applied to both tracks at the same time. This is helpful, for example, with transpositions or duophonic playing.

Flame Takt 8-Track Rhythm Sequencer Module
Flame Takt 8-Track Rhythm Sequencer Module (sequencer/clock generator/LFO/random/MIDI/clock modulator/drum/sample & hold synth module)
Cat: 973764 Rel: 31 Dec 23

8-track rhythm sequencer module with trigger, adjustable gate, velocity and mod CV and quad LFO - 30HP.
Notes: FLAME "TAKT" rhythm sequencer.

"TAKT" is a compact 30HP Eurorack sequencer module for playing or programming trig- ger/gate/velocity rhythm sequences.

The sequencer has 8 tracks with trigger/gate outputs, 8 velocity/modulation CV outputs and full MIDI functionality. The CV track can also be used independently as a modulation track. Live sequencing in looper mode is possible in two ways: SHOTS for playing "note repeats" or quantized triggering via keys or sensors.

Four tracks can be triggered simultaneously with four external distance sensors. These sensors are just 2HP slim modules that can be rack mounted at desired locations. These are connected directly to the module with narrow and sufficiently long ribbon cables, which also supplies the sensors with the necessary operating voltage. The 4 sensors and the connection cables are included in the scope of delivery. The sensors generate trig- gers/gates and can be switched live as a set between tracks 1-4 and 5-8 (e.g. via foots- witch).

Four syncable LFOs with VCOs for amplitude adjustment are also provided. The LFOs are equipped with many interesting functions. This includes 26 different waveforms, phase, amplitude, speed and output voltage. This can be unipolar or bipolar (0..+5v or +/- 5v) and additionally attenuated by AMP (amplitude) with built-in VCA. This means that the LFO outputs can also be adapted to modules that do not have an input attenuator.

Patterns can be switched live and are each up to 4 bars long. 4 patterns plus a fill pat- tern are saved as a scene. 50 scenes can be permanently stored in the module. This means that 250 patterns are available in total.

Additional inputs and outputs for controls are available. There are 4 CV inputs to be defi- ned by the user, as well as 2 programmable analog clock outputs. On the front there are MIDI input and output as 3.5mm TRS sockets. Firmware updates can be done via MIDI- SYSEX.

Punch MG provides a versatile platform for crafting dynamic percussive sounds. With its mute group feature, it allows you to handle numerous signals concurrently.

The manual will guide you through the various features and functions of Punch MG, enabling you to explore its full potential.

Key Features:

Dynamic Sound Generation: Punch MG is engineered to generate dynamic percussive sounds with finesse, offering a range of creative possibilities.

Mute Group Interaction and Signal Patterning: Utilize the mute group feature to enable interactions between signals that share the same group.

This feature enables signal muting and amplitude limitation when multiple signals are triggered simultaneously. The amplitude and decay time of each signal are influenced by others in the same group. This characteristic can lead to captivating pattern variations when focusing on specific channels.

Expandable Capability: By linking two modules, you can expand the effect of the mute group to accommodate up to eight signals, fostering intricate interactions and captivating sonic landscapes.

AM Sound Creation: Connect audio rate signals to the level input to explore the creation of AM (Amplitude Modulation) sounds, further extending the sound design possibilities.

Envelope outs: Each envelope's polarity can be inverted using dedicated switches on the front panel, enabling you to achieve effects like side-chain compression and ducking. Moreover, the mute group circuit's influence extends to the envelope signal output, providing intriguing modulation capabilities that add a unique layer of creative expression to your sonic endeavours.

Konstant Lab BaxandallEQ 3-Band Equalizer Module
Konstant Lab BaxandallEQ 3-Band Equalizer Module (equalizer/preamp synth module)
Cat: 957243

3-band EQ equalizer with two individual channels on board - 4HP.
Notes: BaxandallEQ is a 3-Band EQ equalizer with two individual channels on board. Gain of each of its bands (bass/middle/treble) features a i15dB range. Internal routing of the circuit of the module is a modification based on the legendary EQ design from 1952.

It was never easier to treat your mono/stereo system or external instruments, whole mixes with a touch of this precision equalizer that allows you to dial in any sound from 1950's onwards. Konstant Labs' design is based on the fairly popular and now famous work of renowned electronics designer Peter Baxandall who designed one of the world's most popular EQ curves to date. Why are they so popular? They improve on any source signal you process/send through them.

Konstant Labs decided to base their next module on one of Peter Baxandall's renowned circuits that stood the testament of time in various tour applications and studio rigs all around the world and make it available for the eurorack modular format, while also improving upon its premise and foundation.

BaxandallEQ is a 3-Band EQ equalizer with two individual channels on board. Gain of each of its bands (bass/middle/treble) features a i15dB range. Both of the featured channels can be used independently (stereo) with individual gain for each band or as a one big massive single channel with staggering +/-30dB of gain on each band. Internal routing of the circuit of the module is a modification based on the legendary EQ design from 1952.

This highly sought after EQ circuit is being used for well over 70 years for processing audio, mastering in many high-end studios as well as home studios and home radios all around the world. Konstant Labs took the original circuit and its bass/treble section and modified it to feature a defined and sound-rich middle range. The premise was to deliver a convenient way how to treat your whole eurorack modular system with some precision EQ processing without compromising on sound, high-quality components, and materials. All-analogue signal path features only the best hand-selected condensers from WIMA and high-quality/low-noise opamps to deliver the best sound possible without any unwanted artifacts. The whole circuit and its components reside on one PCB which allowed Konstant Labs to keep high-quality/high-performance sound without increasing upon modules depth.

There is a switch on the back of the module that allows you to set the overall gain of the module - either 0dB or +6dB if desired.

BaxandallEQ offers you a broad range of applications for your modular system and external instruments alike. It pairs exceptionally well with Konstant Labs' high-quality stereo mixer module PanoramaMIX and M2S (mono to stereo converter module).

It was never easier and more affordable to add a slight touch of precision, eliminate unwanted frequencies coming out from your eurorack modular patches, add raw analogue power to bass drums, snares, claps, percussions, or glue whole mixes together. Simply feature BaxandallEQ in your signal path and watch the magic of sound reminiscent of the vintage era unfold right before you.

Designed, manufactured, and assembled by hand at Konstant Lab - Slovakia / EU.
