Review: Daniel Avery's heartfelt tribute to the late, great Andrew Weatherall, the melancholic masterpiece that is 'Lone Swordsmen', was one of the standout tracks on his most recent album, the critically acclaimed Ultra Truth. Here the track returns in remixed form, with Throbbing Gristle's Chris Carter putting his spin on Avery's bittersweet, late-90s style IDM gem. Carter's version is a touch warmer and more percussively up-beat, with Avery's lilting lead lines, poignant melodies and glistening electronic motifs rising above a slipped breakbeat and moody bass. It's an excellent remix all told, and a fine example of how to rework on already excellent track to enhance its key features.

Review: The CCCP Edits label keeps on rolling out the jams and now we get a second offering of them in just a couple of months. The in-house team tackles a wide remit of sounds and adds their own spin - here we start with the kaleidoscopic colours of 'Sahar-Pesok' with its icy electro rhythms and serene sense of synth craft. 'Engineer Pohoj' is a darker bit of cyborg funk to jack the floor and 'Football' then flips the script with some big disco samples over broken beat rhythms that bring fun and originality in equal measure. 'V Shapke Profilja' closes out with some wonky bass and lush neon synth work for 5 am cruising.

There's a reason that Future Sound of London's 1991 debut single, 'Papua New Guinea', is periodically reissued: it's a stone-cold classic that sounds unlike anything else. In its original mix form, the track combines traits borrowed from early breakbeat hardcore (booming bass, house-tempo breakbeats) with saucer-eyed vocal samples, twinkling pianos and sounds more often found in ambient house and chill-out tunes from the period. This remastered, hand-numbered vinyl reissue boasts all of the 1992 remixes (as well as the original mix), including a suitably psychedelic, tribal-tinged Andrew Weatherall revision, the duo's own spaced-out ambient style 'Dub' mix, and a sax-sporting Manchester re-wire courtesy of 808 State's Graham Massey.

Review: A new self titled EP and label project from MSZ and it's well worth talking about. 'Track 1' sets off at a slick pace with polished and punchy drums layered up with balmy chords and a classy peak time energy that will get fists skyward and faces smiling. It's a smooth and super cool opener, and the second cut is no less colourful and charming with its busy, garage-tinged drums and low-key bassline funk. On the flip are two more cuts that mix house, tech, electro, breaks, bass and spaced-out vibes into something driving and dynamic.

Review: Perko is one of those newer-school experimental artists whose fingers straddle many pies, but who nevertheless refuses to allow this inner tendency towards versatility to hold him back. The FELT label owner has welcomed artists as far-flung as Civilistjavel! to Moxie into his inner circle; and the fruits of this open-mindedness are more than translated into his latest EP for Glaswegian dance legends Numbers. 'Prang' errs on the side of playfulness, giving some hot seconds of pure danceable flavour. Huerco S lends his usually-texturally-rich addprod to the nominal A-sider, a rather impressive future-garage-acid cut that recalls some of Objekt's earlier stuff, while regular collaborator and mournful vocalist-producer Cucina Povera crops up on the ambient dub plunger-into-the-sound that is 'Sisu'.

The good-times vibe maintains on the B-side as a sweatier jack emerges around 'Te Siento Dentro', a faithful revision of a prototypical house joint, and then we're treated to the uptempo Latino rap throwdown of 'Vice'. If you want to set a party alight, every one of these tunes has all you need to get some heat generating out on the floor.

Review: Magnonic Signal label boss Spin Fidelity aka Antonio Velazquez is well known for his techno outings Subwax Excursions and Parang Recordings. Here he lends his consider skills to a fourth release from the Brussels label Nightflight Records. There is some glistening old school jack and cosmic synth work on opener 'Photon Stream' that gets you locked in from the off. He then shifts down a gear for the widescreen cyber-funk of 'Ancient Love' before heading off on a silky electro tip on 'There Must Be A Way.' Closing out a hugely varied EP is the trippy acid and melodic workout that is 'Magnonic Transmission.'

Review: Terence Terry, often just known as Terry and many other names around the European minimal tech house scene, is back with a bang. He drops this highly elevated collection of after hours delights on US label Melodeum, capturing just the kind of vibe you want to keep things trucking once the sun comes up. This is cheeky, energising material with warmth and melody that won't upset the somnambulant mood of an up-all-night crowd. There's some warmth and soul, some playful touches, but never at the expense of that undulating, eternal minimal house groove.
